State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said the present government ensured all basic needs including food, treatment and education for the people.
“There is no question of food crisis as the country producing huge food grains under the supervision of the government and getting treatment even in remote areas through community clinics. Besides, nobody will be deprived of education for financial insolvency,” he said.
The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at a cheque distribution ceremony at Shilpakala Academy in the town on Friday morning. Patients suffering from cancer, kidney diseases and liver cirrhosis got the financial donations from the government. District Social Welfare Department organised the programme with district Social Services Deputy Director Aniruddha Kumar Roy in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner of Meherpur Md Ataul Gani, Acting Superintendent of Police Sheikh Zahidul Islam and Meherpur Municipality Mayor Mahfujur Rahman Riton were present, among others, on the occasion.
