Driver arrested for sexually harassing RU female student

Police arrested an auto-rickshaw driver for allegedly sexually harassing a female student of Rajshahi University (RU) on Thursday night. The arrestee was identified as Raju Mia, 38, son of Abdus Kuddos, resident of Namavadra under Motihar thana of the district. Sources said Raju had hurled abusive words and sexually harassed a female student of fine arts faculty at university’s Kazi Nazrul auditorium around 8pm while a movie was screening. Then few of her colleagues beat up Raju and handed over him to police.  “We have received a complaint against the auto-rickshaw driver for harassing the female student and further steps will be taken with the help of police, said Noor E Alam, assistant proctor of the university.
