Bangladesh youth replied to their English counterparts well with the bat as they scored 266 for five on the close of the second day of the opening youth Test at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) in Chattogram yesterday.
In response to England’s colt 280, Bangladesh youth Tigers put on 266, meaning that they have 14 more runs to match the English’s first innings total.
Amit Hasan tackled the initial fuss with Parvez Hossain after Bangladesh mislaid their opener Tanzid Hasan cheaply. The duo shared 93 for the second-wicket stand before Amit’s unfortunate run-out. The opener fell a run short of his fifty. Amit played a proper Test cricket as he faced 100 balls
Together with Towhid Hridoy, Parvez Hossain hit another 41 for the third-wicket partnership. Even though Amith missed to score fifty, Parvez did not make any mistake to bright up his fifty. He finally clouted 62.
Before being caught by Hamidullah Qadri off George Baldersen, this one-down batsman clubbed seven fours and two sixes in his patient 148-ball 62.
Hridoy clattered an invaluable 89 with Akbar Ali for the fifth-wicket stand that crossed 250-run mark.
Bangladesh youth finished the day on 266 for five in 83 overs, where Akbar remained unbeaten on 56 with Shahadat making any run yet.
