Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun yesterday said the government is working for improvement of the leather industry as it is the second important sector for the national economy.
“The government is establishing modern tannery industrial hub at Savar side by side with ensuring professional security in the leather industry,” he told a meeting with the delegation of Leather goods and Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB) at his ministry, said a press release.
Humayun said his ministry will take initiative for increasing sector wise productivity to implement the election manifesto of Bangladesh Awami League.
Among others, LFMEAB President M Saiful Islam, Vice-President M Nazmul Hassan Sohail and Director Ziaur Rahman were present.
