Two-day music and cake festival at IGCC from today

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) is organising a two-day music and cake festival titled Baul and Pitha Utsav at its Dhanmondi premises today and tomorrow. At the programme, renowned artistes from Bangladesh like baul-poet Jamal Dewan, baul-poet Salauddin and Yar Hossain Sarkar will perform today, while Latif Sarker, Nayon Dewan and Dipu Dewan will perform tomorrow.
Along with beautiful Baul performances, there will be stall of cakes where the visitors can enjoy delicious pithas from both India and Bangladesh.
Jamal Dewan is a renowned artiste, who performed not only in Bangladesh but also around the globe like Japan, India, USA etc. He is a regular visiting artiste of BTV, ETV, Shilpakala Academy and Bangla Academy. He had his formal training under Baul Anowar Dewan.
Salauddin is a regular visiting artiste of BTV, Shilpakala Academy and Bangla Academy. He had his formal training under Baul Alauddin.
Yar Hossain Sarkar is also a regular visiting artist of BTV and Bangla Academy. He had his formal training under Baul Shah Alam Sarkar.
Latif Sarker is a renowned artiste, who performed in the countries like USA, Japan, China, etc. He had his formal training under Baul Abul Sarker.
Noyan Dewan is a renowned artiste of Bangladesh who performed in countries like Taiwan, India etc. He is also a regular visiting artiste of Shilpakala Academy and Bangla Academy. He had his formal training under Baul Razzak Dewan.
Dipu Dewan a regular visiting artiste of BTV, Shilpakala Academy and Bangla Academy. He had his formal training under Baul Razzak Dewan.
