Six youths, accused in Chhatra Dal activist Abu Zafar Anik murder case, landed in jail after turning themselves in to a city court yesterday. Mintu Das, 32, Rocky Das, 22, Aporajita, 22, Obhi, 21, Durjoy, 21 and Ajay, 21, sought bail after surrendering.
But Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Saleh Md Noman rejected their petitions. Anik, 26, was stabbed to death in front of his father on June 17 last year. His younger brother Ronik had an altercation with a group of youth over honking his motorbike in the evening. Later, the accused stormed Anik's house and murdered him.
Md Nasir Uddin, the victim's father, filed a case with Chawkbazar Police Station accusing 12 people.
