Govt to construct new apartments for ministers

The government is going to construct new luxurious apartments for ministers in Baily Road area of the capital.
A total of 28 new apartments will be constructed in a 15-storey building in the area, which is known as minister’s residential area. The cost of each apartment will be over Tk 5 crore.
Ministry of Housing and Public Works has sent a project proposal titled ‘Ministers’ Apartment-III’, involving Tk 100.02 crore, to the planning commission for approval.
The government took this initiative to ensure accommodation of the cabinet members and proper utilisation of land.
A total of 28 ministers’ accommodation will be ensured after completing the construction of the building, the project plan said. According to the plan, the construction work of these flats will be completed by 2018.
