Law minister Anisul Huq yesterday said foreign countries want to utilise the experiences of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) of Bangladesh.
“The country’s judicial system is being appreciated by foreign nations,” the minister said at the inauguration of an eight-day workshop for district and sessions judges and their equivalents organised by the Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI).
Huq said two Bangladeshi judges have already been appointed at the Permanent Court of Arbitration at Hague in the Netherlands for resolving international disputes. He also said the government now wants to completely digitise the judiciary, which has already been done for the executive. "The government is also aware of the backlog of cases. We have increased the number of judges and developed the judicial system so that the backlog can be reduced quickly," he added.
