Touchstone statue recovered

Kotwali police recovered a touchstone statue of lord Krishna, weighing about 3.25 kg worth Tk 3 crores, from the house of a van driver at village Kodalia in Jessore sadar yesterday. ASP of KA-Circle Bhaskar Saha said acting on a tip-off, police raided the house of one Anwar Hossain and recovered a touchstone statue of Krishna and arrested Jahanara Begum, wife of Anwar Hossain. Officer-in-charge of Kotwali police station Sikder Akkas Ali said the stature was kept for smuggling into India.
