Baseless demand aimed at embarrassing govt: Nasim

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim yesterday said the baseless demand for scraping medical college admission tests is being raised to embarrass the government, reports BSS. “Those who are agitating have taken stand against the most meritorious students of the country,” he said in an exchange of opinion meeting with principal of public medical colleges and directors of hospitals at the health ministry meeting room. The Health and Family Welfare minister said there is no scope to pay heed to the demand made by the students who failed in examinations. No illogical demand could be realized through street agitation, he added. Nasim said the present government has been voted to power by the people and it cannot go beyond the logic.
He said him has checked the process of making and supplying question papers and become sure that there was no scope of leakage. Referring to her visits to examinations centers, the minister said the admission tests were held cent percent fairly maintaining strict security. He directed the principals and directors to remain alert so that none can hamper the classes of the students. The government will give all cooperation in this regard, he said. Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, former Health Minister AFM Ruhal Haque, Hazi M Selim, MP, and Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Secretary General Prof Dr Iqbal Arsalan were present at the meeting, among others.
