Road crashes kill 3

Three people, including a woman, were killed and eight others injured in three separate road accidents in Gazipur, Dhaka and Pabna districts yesterday morning, reports UNB. In Gazipur, a female garment worker was killed and seven other people were injured as a bus crashed into a microbus on the Dhaka-Tangail highway at Konabari in the morning. The deceased was identified as Ruma, 28.OC of Konabari highway police Abu Daud said some 14 officials and workers of Liz Fashion were going to their workplace at Shafipur in Kaliakair upazila from Badda in the capital riding a microbus.
When the microbus reached Konbari, a Kaliakair-bound bus crashed into it. As a result, a door of the microbus opened, throwing Ruma out. Later, she was crushed under the wheels of the bus and died on the spot around 7:45am.
In Keraniganj, a man was killed and a young man injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka in the morning. The deceased was identified as Ruhul Amin, 43, hail from Kotakuralia village in Patuakhali sadar upazila.
A Dohar-bound bus of Jamuna Delux Paribahan plunged into a roadside ditch as the driver lost control over the steering, leaving Ruhul dead on the spot and a young man injured, said Sub-Inspector of Keraniganj model police station M Mamun.
In Pabna, a motorcyclist identified as Sohag, 27, an inhabitant of Singa Bypass in sadar upazila, was killed as he lost control over the steering of his vehicle at Bhadrakali in sadar upazila early yesterday around 3:30am.
