Man held with 1,000 litres of acid

Police arrested a worker of a shop and seized 1,000 litres of acid at Shahibag in Chapainawabganj town on Wednesday. The arrestee has been identified as Zohurul Islam, 26, of Sehala Colony in Chapainawabganj municipality. SI Khairul Islam of Chapainawabganj Sadar police station said the police, acting on secret information, raided the shop around 3:30 pm and seized the acid in 36 containers.  Two owners of the shop Abdul Awal and Tariqul Hoque Jewel fled away sensing the presence of police, he added.
