Girl raped; one held

A student of class-VII was raped allegedly by a college student at village Garadob in Gangni upazila of Meherpur on Wednesday night. The victim is now undergoing medical treatment at Gangni Upazila Health Complex.  The culprit has been identified as Shuvo Hossain, a student of Bansgbaaria BM College in Gangni upazila.  According to sources, the boy, angered by rejection, seized the girl he loved while she was fetching water from a tube well and forcibly took her to a secluded place on Wednesday night with the help of some of his friends and raped. RAB members of Gangni camp conducted a drive at village Garadov the same night and managed to round up Babul Aktar, 18, and a student of Meherpur Government College, an associate of Shuvo. He confessed his involvement in the crime, RAB source added.
