The two-day 33rd edition of national poetry festival titled ‘Jatitya Kobita Utsab’, organised by the Jatiyo Kobita Parishad, is set to begin today on the premise of Dhaka University (DU) campus in the capital. Poet Asad Chowdhury will inaugurate the event at the festival venue on the DU premises. Poet Habibullah Siraji will be honoured at the festival for his contribution to the poetry. Earlier on January 11, a press conference was held to brief the media about the festival. Presided over by the Jatiyo Kobita Parishad president Dr Mohammad Samad, general secretary of the Parishad read out the written speech at the press meet. Among others, Poet Asad Chowdhury, Anwara Syed Haq, Asad Mannan, Kazi Rozi, Dr Harisul Haque, Foyzul Alom Pappu and poet Hanif Khan were also present.
