3 of a family killed in Mymensingh road accident

Three members of a family were killed and three others injured as a microbus hit a roadside tree in Alalpur area under Sadar upazila early yesterday. The deceased were identified as Abdul Hamid Member, 65, his wife Shahera Begum, 55, and their son Shafiqul Islam, 35, residents of Vatipara village under Phulchhari upazila in Gaibandha district.

Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station Mahmudul Islam said the accident occurred on the Mymensingh-Sherpur highway when the microbus, carrying them, hit the roadside tree and turned turtle at about 3 am as its driver lost control over the vehicle, leaving three passengers dead on the spot and three others injured. The injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital The family was going to Dhaka for Shahera’s treatment.
