RAJSHAHI: Muggers snatched away Tk three lakh from a GrameenPhone (GP) official after stabbing him at Pachmaria in Puthia upazila on Wednesday afternoon, reports UNB. The victim was identified as Shitanath Banik, 36, son of Shushil Banik, a resident of Raninagar upazila of Naogaon district. Shitanath represents the mobile phone operator from its Pachmaria local office. Hafizur Rahman, inspector of Puthia police station, said on Wednesday afternoon, Shitanath was going to Rajshahi city after collecting flexiload (an electronic bill payment system) money from the local traders. When he reached Pachmaria, a gang of muggers numbering six riding three motorbikes swooped on him and stabbed him indiscriminately and took away Tk three lakh from his possession. Injured, the GP representative was first whisked off to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) and later shifted to Dhaka, said Abdul Malek, in-charge of RMCH police outpost.
