Top-order batsman Imrul Kayes hit out at the selectors, stating that if he used to know the area he lacks, he would then work on it for improvement further.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recently declared their Tigers’ ODI and Test squad for the upcoming New Zealand series, where Imrul Kayes has made no place.
“If they (selectors) clear the things where I have lacking then I can work on it. I can work better to improve,” said Imrul Kayes, who played for Comilla Victorians in BPL.
“I think, the thing is needed to clear for me because the question might be brought in my mind why I am not in the team. I don’t know myself it,” Kayes told media after Victorians’ sixth victory at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium yesterday.
“May be I dropped due to the team combination or may be I need not to play in that position where they have so many players in hind. For this, I am not in their mind,” he added.
On the other hand, Khulna Titans batsman Carlos Brathwaite expressed his regret for their disappointing BPL campaign, and said that injury of some of their players heavily cost for them in the BPL.
“You never like to talk about that. Obviously in the draft, the owners and management had set the combination,” said Carlos Brathwaite.
“And obviously we lost Jahurul Islam for injury, Malinga with personal matter back home. I myself had injury matter so you know cricket is a funny game sometimes you play hard for not getting results,” Brathwaite told media at post-match conference.
