The Bangladesh women’s cricket team returned home empty-handed after they were whitewashed by Pakistan in the one-day internationals 0-2, following a 0-2 drubbing in T20 series. The team had decided to go ahead with the Pakistan tour despite security fears.
Bangladesh U-19 team out of contention
Bangladesh lost any chance to qualify the AFC Under-19 Championship finals after a 4-0 defeat to Uzbekistan in the last match of the qualifying round from Group A at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The hosts beat Sri Lanka 2-0 in their first match, but squandered a chance against Bhutan by drawing 1-1, before losing to Uzbekistan. Sri Lanka blanked Bhutan 2-0.
Uzbekistan, who thumped Bhutan 7-0 and beat Sri Lanka 3-0, booked a place in the finals, to be held in Bahrain in 2016. The group champions and the best five runners-up will play in the main event.
