11th reunion of DU philosophy dept held

The 11th reunion of Dhaka University Philosophy Department Alumni Association (DUPDAA) was held on the campus on Friday. The daylong programme included cultural programmes, reading obituary notes of renowned persons and unveiling souvenir, organised by DUPDAA at the auditorium of universitys Teacher-Student Centre (TSC), said a press release. Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the programme as the chief guest with Chairman of the Department and DUPDAA President Prof Dr M Shajahan Mia in the chair.
A total of seven former professors of the department were distributed honorary special awards for their outstanding contribution to the Department, the release added. DU Alumni Association President AK Azad, renowned Philosopher Dr Aminul Islam and DUPDAA General Secretary Mahfuza Rahman Chowdhury Babli were present, among others.
Orientation programme held

The orientation programme of the freshers of Daffodil International Academy (DIA) was held at DIA auditorium on Wednesday, says a press release. Md Sabur Khan, chairman, Daffodil International Academy and Daffodil Family, was the chief guest. The orientation programme was addressed by Mohammad Nuruzzaman, chief executive officer of Daffodil Family, and Sarwar Hossain Mollah, deputy director, Daffodil International Academy. Ali Imran, faculty member of Daffodil International Academy, delivered welcome speech and vote of thanks was given by Mostafizur Rahman, Senior Faculty of DIA.
In the programme, 19 meritorious students who have achieved first class in BSc in IT from Greenwhich University, UK and newly enrolled freshers students were given reception.
Md Sabur Khan, chairman of Daffodil Family, described different ways of becoming successful in career and urged the students to become fit for local and global job market equipping themselves with latest technological advancement. A gala cultural event was presented at the end of the programme.
