27th founding anniv of Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee today

Today is the 27th founding anniversary of the Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee (Committee for Eliminating Killers and Collaborators of ’71).

On this day in 1992, the committee was formed under the leadership of Shaheed Janani Jahanara Imam to press the demand for trial of war criminals and a ban on politics of communalism and fundamentalism by the Jamaat-Shibir clique.

A rally titled ‘March Towards the Spirit of Liberation War’ has been organising since 1996 by the Nirmul Committee aimed at making the parliament free from Razakars (anti-liberation war element). Marking the anniversary, the committee will organise a discussion and a film exhibition programme at house no-20, road no-20 at Dhanmondi in the capital around 3pm today.
