165 wild birds seized from Tongi

As catching, selling and carrying are strictly prohibited, a team of Wildlife Crime Control Unit (WCCU) seized 165 different species of wild birds from Tongi industrial city area yesterday. On a tip-off, a team of the WCCU under the ministry of environment and forest made a sudden raid in Tongi bazaar area and recovered the wild birds from there as the sellers made a safe exit.
