Mass awareness programmes have to be launched to reduce and prevent human trafficking in the country, said Sultana Kamal, executive director of Ain o Salish Kendra, yesterday.
She said human trafficking is one of the big problems in the country this moment. “Our youths are going abroad being fleeced by the traffickers. We have to identified them as soon as possible and give them exemplary punishment,” she said.
Sultana Kamal said this while speaking as chief guest at a programme, organised jointly by non-governmental organisations -- Welfare Efforts and Ain o Salish Kendra -- at Jhenidah press club auditorium.
