RANGPUR: The Lions Club of Rangpur (LCR) district-351A2 with assistance of private sector Rangpur Community Medical College Hospital (RCMCH) organised a cost free blood donation camp in the city on Sunday, reports BSS. Specialist physicians, technicians and nurses of RCMCH conducted the camp at City Social Welfare Department Office premises where 40 persons, including male and female youths spontaneously donated 40 bags of blood. The daylong camp was organised by the LCR on the fourth day of observance of the Lions October Service Week-2015 since last Thursday to serve the suffering humanity and distressed people in the district. A brief discussion meeting was arranged in the inaugural ceremony there with President of LCR District 351A2 Lion Shahidul Anam Tuhin in the chair. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr A T M Mahbubul Karim attended the inaugural ceremony to launch the blood donation camp as the chief guest. City Social Welfare Officer Emdadul Haque Pramanik, Deputy Director of RCMCH Merajul Muhsin, Vice-president of Rangpur Social Welfare Coordination Council Masudar Rahman addressed the ceremony as special guests.
