Journalist Rubel Khan, father of Rafida Khan Raifa who died at the Chattogram’s Max Hospital allegedly due to medical negligence in June last year, yesterday demanded justice and exemplary punishment for those responsible for the death of his little daughter.
He placed this demand while talking to an investigation team yesterday (Tuesday). A four-member investigation team, headed by health ministry joint secretary Saifullah Aziz, came to the Chattogram circuit house yesterday (Tuesday) to investigate the matter.
The tam was formed at the direction of the High Court (HC) in response to a writ petition filed by Rubel Khan,
Members of the probe team talked with the doctors of Max hospital regarding the death of the 2.4-year-old girl.
They also talked with the hospital's managing director, Dr Liakat Ali. “My daughter was murdered. I want justice and exemplary punishment of her killers,” said Rubel
Khan.
He also informed the investigation team that he had been receiving threats to withdraw the case.
While talking to reporters, Rubel Khan demanded the intervention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to get justice for his “daughter’s murder”.
Saifullah Aziz told reporters: “We have talked with all the persons concerned and visited the spot. We will submit our report soon.”
