Russel vows to wipe out corruption from sports

Newly appointed State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel, will show zero tolerance against any corruption, crimes or irregularities in sports arena, he announced it during his very first day’s visit at the National Sports Council (NSC) to meet the officials yesterday.  

“I would like to announce from this meeting that I will not indulge myself in any corruption and will not give anyone else the chance either, I will not tolerate any corruption. Prime Minister entrusted me with the duty with her great belief, so I will try to keep up the confidence for the development of country’s sports, she has a great passion for sports. There are so many responsibilities in the Sports Ministry; I will bestow all of endeavours to do my duty honestly.”

“I will do everything necessary to stop off all irregularities and dishonesty, I was elected three times as the member of the parliament and it is my fourth tenure, I had a clean sheet in the last three sessions, I tried to maintain the way of honesty.”

In the last three years, I worked in my constituency, now will have to work with whole country, in this respect I will follow the ideology of my father (late) Ahsan Ullah Master, who was also a member of the parliament and did not make any compromise with the dishonesty.”

“I have to take notice of so many complains about this ministry, specially, with NSC, I don’t want to pay attention such ugly talking, as member of this family will work together, please come forward I want to make this arena as a role model.”

Russel also said, “It is our great advantage that there are no sections, from the Prime Minister to all, who are not related with this ministry, we will capitalise this opportunity, indeed we will go to every ministry we will have to.”

Russel replying to a query about the atmosphere of the Bangabandhu National Stadium said that he will take it very seriously.

Russel replying to another query said that he would give the priority to those disciplines, who have chance to win medals in the international arena.

“I have been working last ten years related to sports ministry, I think sports sector has developed a lot, as I worked directly for almost a decade, first year I will indentify the disciplines priority basis, who have chance to win medal in the international competitions, I will prefer for long term training program and talent hunt for those events,” Russel said about his objectives part from his stance against the corruption and wrong doings in the sports arena.
