Security tightened for foreigners

Barisal divisional and district administrations and Barisal Metropolitan Police and district police have taken strong steps to ensure security and safety of the forefingers staying here for different purposes. A list of the foreigners has been prepared and security personnel have been deployed in their residences. The foreigners also have been advised to inform it to police or the local administration if they come across any unwanted situation.  Abu Sayed, assistant commissioner and spokesman of Barisal Metropolitan Police, said that there are 150 foreigners now staying in Barisal division, including 72 in Barisal city.  Of them, 25 are in service while the rest are visitors and students. Forty are students of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College, seven are students of Patuakhali University of Science and Technology, five are in service in Shansong Taikai Power Station, five are residing in Airpor thana area, two are ding job in Khan Sons Textile, two in Fortune Shoe Ltd in Kawnia area of the city, two are doing job at Anchor Cement Factory, six are doing service in Opsonin Pharma and one in Primary Teachers’ Institute in the city.  
Police sources said they also a held meeting with cross section of people, foreigners and other to discuss how to ensure safety of the foreigners living here. They also started intelligence surveillance over the movement of the foreigners setting up sufficient police boxes, speed up the activities against the fundamental terrorist activities, following the movement of the accused of different violence cases, deployed high police officials in different important points and took other special security measures during travel of the forefingers.  Police and detective agencies started conducting raids in different residential hotels from last night checking in search of terrorists.
