‘Dhaka-Delhi ties to get further boost under Hasina’s leadership’

Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali has said the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and India will further be strengthened under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The High Commissioner made the remark while addressing the 19th Global Female Folk Dance Competition and Carnival at Gaziabad yesterday.

The Awami League has been reelected for the third consecutive term with an unprecedented majority.

A cultural troupe from Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy performed at the festival, along with teams from eight other countries -- India, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Estonia, Nepal, Thailand and Czech Republic.

The dancers enthralled the audience at the festival organized by Charu Castle Foundation, said the High Commission.

The High Commissioner said Bangladesh-India relations cover everything -- security, energy, connectivity, trade and commerce, culture, people-to-people contact. In the same vein, both the countries are trying to nurture the age-old connection of culture and, as a result, the cultural cooperation between the two countries has also been at their highest level in recent years, he said.

The High Commissioner said the exchange of cultural delegations has been made between the two countries on almost regular basis.
