The United Nations has asked its officials not to visit Rangpur, where Japanese national Kunio Hoshi was shot to death on Saturday.
The notification applies to both international and local staff, said sources concerned.
The UN Department of Safety and Security issued the notification at noon on Saturday asking all UN officials not to undertake any visit to Rangpur until further notice, they said.
Meanwhile, the government will brief the foreign envoys today on the situation evolved from the killings of two foreign nationals in the country.
The briefing will take place at the state guest house Padma at 3pm, said sources concerned.
Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali and Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal will brief the heads of the diplomatic missions stationed in Dhaka.
