Orientation programme held at UIU
A two-day orientation programme for the newly admitted students of Fall-2015 of United International University (UIU) was held at university auditorium on Saturday, says a press release. Newly admitted students in the School of Business and Economics and School of Science and Engineering participated in the programme. UIU Vice Chancellor M Rezwan  Khan, presided over the ceremonies while Pro-Vice Chancellor Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, Adviser  Golam Rahman, Dean, School of Business & Economics Md Musa, Head of Department of Economics Amirul Islam Chowdhury, Registrar ASM Salahuddin, Head of the Department of CSE Salekul Islam, Director of Students Affairs Suman Ahmed  spoke at the programmes. The speakers said providing quality education is the prime concern of the university. The speakers also advised the students to be more attentive to their academic studies to face the challenges of 21st Century.

Eastern University gets new treasurer

Siddique Hossain, associate professor and MBA Programme Director of Eastern University, was appointed as treasurer of Eastern University on Sunday for four-year term. Siddique Hossain has completed his masters in Economics from Temple University, USA in 1997 and also earned an MBA degree from Cleveland State University, USA in 1989.  Earlier, he worked as a faculty member at the School of Business, North South University, University of Chittagong and Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of University of Dhaka. He also worked at Wharton Econometrics and Forecasting Associates (WEFA), Inc, USA and International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington, USA.
