The three-day ‘30th Jatiya Rabindra Sangeet Utsab’ concluded on May 13 at the Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Central Public Library in Shahbag of the capital.
Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sangstha (BRSS) organised the event from May 10 to 12 marking the 157th birth anniversary of Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore.
The objective of the programme was to spread Tagore songs and his philosophy among the new generation.
On the closing day of the three-day event, eminent Rabindra Sangeet singer Mita Haque was awarded with ‘Jatiya Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sangstha Sommanona’ for her contribution to Rabindra Sangeet. BRSS president Tapan Mahmud and general secretary Sajed Akbar handed over the award and a cheque to Mita Haque during the closing ceremony.
