Today is the 28th death anniversary of Comrade Moni Singh, one of the leading organisers of the Liberation War and former president of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB). Different political and cultural organisations have organised programmes to observe the day. President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have issued separate messages on this occasion. CPB will pay tribute to the memories of Moni Singh by placing wreaths at the monument of Moni Singh at Postogola cremation ground around 7:30am today. Comrade Singh was a member of the Advisory Council of the Provisional Government of Bangladesh during the Liberation War in 1971. Moni Singh, a recipient of Independence Award, died on December 31, 1990 at the age of 84.
