Eminent Rabindra Sangeet singer Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya will perform at the upcoming three-day festival titled ‘Bangla Utsab 2019’. The event is scheduled to begin on January 4 at the Nazrul Mancha in Kolkata, India.
DhakaLive has news that the singer will render patriotic songs alongside Rabindra Sangeet on the opening day of the festival on January 4.
About the programme, Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya said, “I attend most of the events in West Bengal. I usually have to participate in all special events throughout the year. A few days ago, I performed in ‘Poush Mela’, and this time around, I will participate in ‘Bangla Utsab’. Besides, I will have to attend several programmes in West Bengal in the New Year.”
With the theme, ‘Dui Bangla: Seemana Bhule, Ek Sur-e’, the ‘Bangla Utshab 2019’ will bring 34 well-known and promising singers and bands from Bangladesh and Kolkata to the festival.
Along with Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya, Bangladeshi singer Bappa Majumdar and band Chirkutt will perform during the festival, while Indian singer Anupom Ray, Lopa Mudra Mitra and band Chandrabindhu, among others, will also perform.
The festival is going to be organised jointly by several organizations from both Bangladesh and Kolkata. The name of the organizations includes Bengal Foundation, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) and Nothing Beyond Cinema.
