Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda yesterday said the overall voting situation across the country is good except some sporadic incidents. "If there's any problem in any polling station, steps will be taken there," he said after casting his vote at IES High School polling station at Uttara at 10:55am. As his attention was drawn to the absence of the agents of opposition alliances at five polling stations he visited at Uttara, the CEC said, "I didn't notice whether BNP agents are absent in the polling stations." He also said there will be no agent if they do not come to the polling centres.
Responding to another question about violence across the country, he said there were incidents of violence in Chattogram and some other places. Election officials, law enforcement agencies were directed to control violence. “If the situation goes beyond control in any polling station voting will be held there again.”
