The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department (CIID) yesterday opened another container in suspecting loaded with counterfeit Indian rupees which was impounded for further inspection earlier after found Indian currency worth 2, 71, 76, 500 in a container on September 21. However, till filling the report yesterday at 6pm the CIID could not found any Indian rupee in the container and their inspection was going on, said Zakir Hossain, assistant director of CIID. After recovering the fake currency from one of the four containers, the CIID has impounded the other three as well for further inspection. On September 16, the container sailed into the Chittagong Port on board a ship called Prospa bearing the flag of Monrovia from the United Arab Emirates. Six persons, including the owner of Flash Trade Int’l, Md Shahmimur Rahman, have been arrested over the incident.
