Two members of Bangladesh Army were killed and three others injured as a vehicle carrying them plunged into a ditch by Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar road in Chakaria upazila yesterday night, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Naimuddin and Shafiqur Rahman. All the victims are sepoys of Ramu Cantonment of Bangladesh Army. Officer-in-charge of Chakaria Police Station Probas Chandra Dhar said the army vehicle skidded off the road and fell into the ditch around 8:30pm after its driver lost control over the steering while giving side to another vehicle. The accident left two army men dead on the spot and three others injured, he said. On information, police rushed in and took the victims to Malumghat Christian Memorial Hospital in the upazila, the OC added.
