Jatiya Sangshad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, yesterday urged the electorates to continue their support to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by voting for the symbol ‘boat’ for uninterrupted development. The ‘boat’ has factually become a symbol for prosperity and we have to make Sheikh Hasina winner again in the eleventh parliamentary election for continuous advancement of the country involving everyone with the development process,” she said.
Dr Shirin said this while making mass public contacts and addressing streets corner rallies as a part of her daylong election campaign at different places of Barodorga union in her Rangpur-6 constituency comprising of Pirganj upazila.
The Speaker said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working for betterment of the common people through implementing massive development programmes improving their socio-economic conditions and standard of living in last ten years.
“We have provided electricity to every house, set up community clinics reaching health services to doorstep of the common people and established 100 special economic zones across the country side by side with taking various public welfare initiatives,” she said. Dr Shirin urged the people to vote for ‘boat’ for continuity of the development trend to realise the dream of building a developed Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Among the major development projects implemented in Pirganj upazila, she cited constructions of Central Shaheed Minar, Muktijoddha Complex Bhaban, Union Parishad Complexes, Upazila Parisahd Complex, Bangladesh Institute of Research and Training on Applied Nutrition, establishing Dr MA Wazed Textile Engineering College and Marine Academy Construction.
