Bangladesh-A to tour SA, Zimbabwe from Oct 15

Sports Reporter

Bangladesh-A cricket team is preparing for another tour in African continent after their dismal tour of India last month. This time the second string Bangladesh team will tour in South Africa first and then Zimbabwe to play a string of different format games. The tour will be finished before the onset of the third edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), which is due to roll onto the ground during the third week of November in new shape.
Bangladesh team is scheduled to fly on October 15 for their month-long tour of African countries. The visiting team will leave Dhaka for Johannesburg in South Africa to play a 3-dayer alongside two one day matches against their South African counterparts.
The tourists will play three one day and two four-dayers against Zimbabwe-A team.
The selectors of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) meanwhile formed the squad of the Bangladesh A team and send it to the president for approval.
Habibul Bashar Sumon, member of the BCB selection panel, acknowledged the matter and said that they have formed the squad and send it to the board president for approval.
“Primarily we have formed the squad for the series of South Africa. But if we think we should bring back any player or send any player we’ll do it later,” said Habibul Bashar.
“Before forming a team we take a string of matters in our consideration. This time nothing is happened exception,” Sumon told media at his office of Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
“When we form a team for a tournament or competition we emphasis more on player’s previous performance than it’s current performance. But this time we have considered  player’s current performance in NCL,” he added.
Citing the last series of India, the former skipper said that they formed the team keeping in mind the Test series against Australia but this time they have no series within the next three month.
“Last time we formed Bangladesh-A team for the India tour keeping the home series with Australia in mind. We had done it as a part of preparation for the Australia series. But the series is not being held,” the selector said, adding “Now it is opportunity for us to see other players.”
