The much-anticipated upcoming film ‘Shovoner Swadhinata’, the directorial debut film by Manik Manobik based on a novel by Rashid Haider, has been selected for participation in the Kolkata International Children’s Film Festival 2015. The festival has been scheduled to take place from October 21 to October 28 in Kolkata, India. The government-grant film based on the Liberation War began its shooting two years ago, which received the censor certificate in February this year. It stars audience-admired actor Ferdous, along with Nipun, Wahida Mallick Joly, Chitralekha Guha, Khairul Anam Sobuj, Swadhin Khosru, among others. In addition, 13 students—who have studied in Notre Dame College also acted in the film, and one of them is Rudro Raiyan, who plays the character of Shovon. According to director Manik Manobik, “I am trying my level best to release the film for the viewers during the beginning of December this year.”
