�No security problem for foreigners working for Padma Bridge project�

MUNSHIGANJ: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said there is no security problem for foreigners working for Padma Bridge project as there are army, police and naval police to maintain security, reports UNB. There is no security problem for foreigners involved in the construction work of Padma Bridge as army, police and naval police are looking after the security issue there, the minister told journalists after a meeting held at the Hall Room of the constriction firm China Major Bridge of the Padma Bridge at Kumarbhog, Munshiganj yesterday, reports BSS. High officials of Bangladesh Army and local administration attended the meeting where security of foreigners working for the mega project was discussed. About the progress of the construction work, Obaidul Quader said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the work of the piling of the main bridge and river training in November. Around 25 percent work of the bridge has no far been completed, he said, adding that the work of the main piling of the bridge has been delayed due to erosion. The construction work of the bridge would be completed as per the schedule, he further said.
