Ban on vehicular movement on voting day

The road transport and bridges ministry, in a directive issued yesterday, has banned plying of all kinds of vehicles on the day of the general election.
Besides, motorcycles will not be allowed to run from December 28 midnight till January 1, 2019, midnight. However, this ban will not aply to poll observers who will receive permission from returning officers. Moreover, local and foreign journalists, officers and employees engaged in electioneering, law enforement agencies, legal inspectors of the election, ambulance, fire service, electricity, gas, postal and telecommunication vehicles have been kept outside the purview of the ban.
