Punishment to killers demanded

A large number of people, including students and teachers formed a human chain demanding immediate arrest of the killers of meritorious student Rifat Tasfia Raouf Tuba in Bogra yesterday. On September 28, Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered the body of Rifat, 15, from Chatiantola of Sabgram area near railway track. She was the daughter of retired principal professor Abdur Rouf of Sohujbag area in the town, and an HSC first year student of Government Azizul Haque College.
Somajtantrik Mohila Forum of the district unit and Chhatra Hront also formed a human chain the same day demanding arrest of the killers. Freedom Fighter Dr Arshad Sayed, headmistress of the school Rabeya Khatun, organiser of the world literature center of the district unit Shamol Vattacharja, programme coordinator ATM Rasedul Islam, the victim’s three sisters - Banker Rahnuma Ferdous, MPhil student of Dhaka University Rifat Sarmin, Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University Masters student Redwana Ferdousi -- students, teachers joined the human chain.
In Tangail, students and teachers of Ibrahim Khan Government College of Bhuapur formed a human chain protesting brutal killing of a student of the college.
They formed the human chain in the college. Later, a protest rally paraded the municipality road demanding punishment to the killers. A discussion was also held on the occasion. Acting principal of the college Md Abdul Mannan, lecturers Anower Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Anowerul Islam, Nazmul Hossain, Md Farid Hossain spoke on the occasion.  
One Sumon Mia of village Falda and a degree student of the college was brutally killed by criminal Rakibul and his accomplices on September 27. The speakers criticised the role of police, who are showing negligence in arresting the killers.
