Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General (DG) Major General Shafeenul Islam yesterday visited the BGB’s temporary camps at Patiya High School filed for the upcoming 11th parliamentary polls slated for December 30.
He reached Patiya High School by a helicopter at around 10:30am. The BGB DG talked with them and gave different directives to the BGB members on the upcoming polls.
He said that they are ready to face any situation in the upcoming polls.
“As per the directive of the election commission, the BGB is working. A total of 1,115 platoons BGB have been deployed over the country including 145 platoons in Chattogram,” said the DG.
He said that the BGB have been in the field since December 18 and have started working since December 20.
“In every constituency, a camp of BGB has been set up, in every upazila there will be 4-6 platoons while in every ward of the city area there will be 3-4 platoons of BGB. Every platoon is consisting of 30 BGB members,” said the DG.
“BGB is working to maintain a congenial and safe atmosphere. Untoward incidents yet to be happened centring the polls,” he
added.
