HC for disposal of Giasuddin Quader’s plea in 15 days

The High Court yesterday ordered the Chattogram District Magistrate to dispose of BNP Vice-Chairman Giasuddin Quader Chowdhury's petition seeking division in jail within a span of 15 days. The HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan and Justice Rajik Al Jalil passed the order after hearing on the petition filed by Giasuddin's son Samir Quadir Chowdhury. His lawyer Barrister Ruhul Kuddus Kajol said Giasuddin deserves a division in jail as he was elected MP in the third and the seventh parliamentary elections. Giasuddin Quader Chowdhury, also the younger brother of executed war criminal Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, was sent to jail in four cases, including a treason case, filed by a BCL leader on November 22.
