Agrani Bank Cricket Club clinched the maiden title of the First Division T20 Cricket Tournament as they thrashed Kalabagan Krira Chakra by 15 runs in the nerve-jangling finale at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.
Opting to bat, Agrani Bank Cricket Club compiled a comprehensive 147 for 6 in their stipulated 20 overs. Zahid Javed top-scored for Agrani Bank with 45 off 34, hitting three sixes and lone boundary. Fazle Rabbi (not out 37), Nabil Islam (19) and Shahriar Komol (13) contributed to the inclusive total.
Chasing 148 for victory, Kalabagan Krira Chakra managed to score 132 in 19.2 overs in the face of Shahidul Islam’s devastating bowling onslaught. Shahidul grabbed five-wicket haul that made him player of the match and awarded with Taka 10,000 and a crest.
Abbas Musa Alvi of Agrani Bank was named player of the tournament for the highest 288 runs including jaw-dropping century.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director and Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) chairman Kazi Inam Ahemd distributed trophy and prize money among the winners as chief guest.
