Stock markets witnessed flat yesterday when daily transactions declined on lower demand.
The day’s trade value at the DSE declined to Tk 353.64 crore from Thursday’s Tk 462.86 crore and the daily trade fell to 8.93 crore shares from 11.61 crore shares of the previous session.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 16.46 points up at 5,281.78. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 8.64 points up at 1,850.75 and with 4.49 points up at 1,213.86.
At the DSE, prices of 118 securities out of the day’s 343 closed higher against 184 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were QUASEMIND, BD Auto Cars, KPCL, Legacy Foot and Fine Foods. The major losing issues were EBL1STMF, Agrani Insurance, Prime Insurance, Prime Life and Ambee Pharma.
KPCL topped the turnover list followed by UPGDCL, Ifad Autos, TPL and SONARGAON.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 59.33 points up at 16,198.31.
