AIUB Computer Engineering student awarded

Sauda Musharrat, student of Computer Engineering department of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), is one of the five winners of the prestigious Digital Bangladesh Award with her idea “Vision 2041: An Affordable Real-time Patient Monitoring System for Underprivileged Hospitals”.
As an initiative to provide the youth a platform to create remarkable change and innovations for the country’s development, Access to Information (a2i) Programme Innovation Lab organised a competition for the university students. This project idea was guided under the supervision of Dr Kamruddin Nur, associate professor of CoE department.
The event also acknowledged the Digital Bangladesh Award winners of RoboWar and puzzle game shows, discussions, seminar, nationwide online essay competition in the prize giving ceremony at BICC. The best participants were awarded laptop on December 12 in Digital Bangladesh Day, organised by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division, at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).

IU gets new student advisor

Professor Paresh Chandra Barman of Information and Communication Engineering department has been appointed as the new Student Advisor of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia.
IU Vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari appointed him to the post for the next one year, sources at IU registrar office said yesterday. He was appointed to the post as the tenure of Student Advisor Professor M Rezuanul Islam of Biotechnology and Genetics Engineering department has been completed, IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif said.
Discussion held at Dhaka Commerce College

Dhaka Commerce College on Monday held a discussion and awarded gold medals to the freedom fighters in observance of the Victory Day. Maj Gen (Retd) Jamil D Ahsan was present at the function as the chief guest with Prof Dr Shafiq Ahmed Siddique, chairman of the college governing body, in the chair. The function also addressed, among others, by DCC principal Prof Md Abu Sayed, vice principal Prof Md Shafiqul Islam, Prof Md Mojaher Jamil and SM Ali Azam.
