Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) along with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive recovered 293 illegally imported mobile handsets and 15 network jammers in the capital’s Baitul Mukarram Market.
The joint team, led by BTRC Director Lt Colonel M Aminul Haque and RAB Executive Magistrate M Sarwar Alam, on Tuesday seized the unauthorised handsets along with 15 mobile phone network jammers worth Tk 60 lakh, said a BTRC release yesterday. Later, the law enforcers arrested 11 people in this connection.
