‘Aquaman’ hits Star Cineplex with US release tomorrow

‘Aquaman’, an American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name, is releasing on the screen of Star Cineplex at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in the capital tomorrow along with its US release.

Directed by James Wan, with a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall, from a story by Geoff Johns, Wan and Beall, the film is the sixth instalment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).  

Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures., it is the third live-action theatrical film featuring Aquaman, following ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ (2016) and ‘Justice League’ (2017), and the first full-length feature film centred around the character.

In ‘Aquaman’, once home to the most advanced civilization on Earth, the city of Atlantis is now an underwater kingdom ruled by the power-hungry King Orm. With a vast army at his disposal, Orm plans to conquer the remaining oceanic people -- and then the surface world. Standing in his way is Aquaman aka Arthur Curry, Orm’s half-human and half-Atlantean brother. With help from royal counsellor Vulko, Aquaman must retrieve the legendary Trident of Atlan and embrace his destiny as protector of the deep.

The film stars Jason Momoa as the title character, with Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman in supporting roles.
