All the focus have been shifted to Dhaka from Sylhet for the remaining two matches of the three-match Twenty20 series between the host Bangladesh and West Indies as both the matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur.
With these matches, the month-long tour of the Caribbean will be ended. The matches, day-night affairs, will be held on December 20 and 22 respectively.
The bulk of the players from both Bangladesh and West Indies in the meantime returned Dhaka on Monday. The senior players of the Tigers flew to Dhaka by evening flight. The rest of the players, mostly youngsters including Mehidy Hasan Miraj, Mohammad Saifuddin, Nazmul Islam Apu and Soumya Sarkar, Ariful Haque and so on came back yesterday.
West Indies, meanwhile, triumphed the first match of the T20 series by eight wickets to take a 1-0 lead. Bangladesh won the ODI series 2-1 after they whitewashed West Indies by 2-0 in Test.
The hosts have opportunity to make a record if they could triumph the T20 series by winning the two successive matches, in that case, it will be a first-ever record for them to win the three formats of series against any team.
