Contribution of Ctg ex-mayor recalled

The first death anniversary of former three times mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury was observed in the city on Saturday with paying glowing tributes to the legendary politician who contributed his whole life for the well-being of the toiling masses. The successful mayor of Chattogram City Corporation for 17th years and President of Chattogram city Awami League Mohiuddin Chowdhury died at the age of 74 on this day last year.

The death anniversary of Chattol Bir Mohiuddin Chowdhury was observed through a day-long programme which began with placing of wreath at his grave by AL.

Party leaders and activists including City Unit Acting President Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury and General Secretary and city Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, MA Latif, MP, Chattogram Development Authority Chairman Abdus Salam, Chattogram Jillaparisad Administrator M A Salam and late Mohiuddin eldest son and AL Organising Secretary Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel were present there.

Khatme Quarn, Milad Mahfil and wearing of black badges were highlights of the death anniversary programme.

Later, a memorial meeting was held at GEC convention center where Chattogram city Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin was present as chief the guest.
